Event Summary

From the ridiculous to the sublime, the Arrogant Worms are
bringing their quirky act to the Empress Theatre on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
The comedy folk trio, which includes Mike McCormick, Chris Patterson and Trevor Strong, describe
themselves as “purveyors of the absurd and ambassadors of fun.”
They first came together in the early 1990s as comedy troupe performing songs and sketches at Queen’s
University’s campus radio station in their hometown of Kingston, ON. They released their first
independent album in 1992 and took their performance on the road. A quarter century later, the Worms
have shared their catchy songs with fans across North America, the United Kingdom and Australia and
are still recording and performing together.
In addition to their popular live shows, their enthusiastic fan base has purchased more than 160,000
copies of their 14 albums. The Worms’ loyal followers can’t get enough of their witty songs, biting satire
and excellent musicianship.
With tunes that are eclectic, silly, and upbeat, covering topics ranging from yoga pants to new car smell
to what it means to be Canadian, the Arrogant Worms’ music spans many styles and genres, including
rock, country, polka, jazz, folk, and metal. Audiences can expect to hear gems such as “Me Like Hockey”,
“Canada’s Really Big”, “Hot Dog Song” and “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate”.
On-stage, the Worms keep it simple musically, with McCormick, Patterson and Strong on vocals,
McCormick on guitar and Patterson on bass.
Tickets to see the Arrogant Worms on their First Farewell Tour, live at the Empress, are only $25 at, by calling 403-553-4404 (1-800-540-9229) or at the Box Office on Main Street.
