Annual Flu Immunization Campaign Begins October 20th

Alberta Health Services will kick off its yearly battle against the flu on October 20th with a series of public immunization clinics across the province.

Alberta Health Services will kick off its yearly battle against the flu later this month.  Beginning on October 20th their annual series of public immunization clinics will be setup across the province.  Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Karin Goodison says AHS has ordered over two million doses of flu vaccine to help meet the demand.  AHS is recommending the vaccine to all Albertans, but Goodison says it's expecially important for high risk patients to get immunized.  This includes people with chronic health conditions like heart disease, asthma, or weak immune systems.  The first public health clinic for Lethbridge will be held October 21st at Exhibition Park.  For the dates and times of other clinics taking place throughout southern Alberta you can visit www.albertahealthservices.ca/influenza - Tom Roulston
