Canes Beat Oil Kings, Move Into First in WHL Central Division

Five different goal scorers lifted the Hurricanes to a 5-2 victory in Edmonton Sunday afternoon.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are right where they want to be, at the top of the Western Hockey League's Central Division. 

Five different players scored Sunday afternoon as the Canes beat the Oil Kings 5-2 in Edmonton. Dylan Cozens, Logan Barlage, Taylor Ross, Noah Boyko, and Jordy Bellerive all lit the red lamp at Rogers Place.

That victory improved the Hurricanes overall record to 21-10-4-4 on the season, moving them into top spot in the division, one point ahead of Edmonton.

Canes goaltender Liam Hughes was great on the afternoon as the Oil Kings out shot Lethbridge 41-26.

Lethbridge is back at home for three games this week. The Kootenay ICE are at the ENMAX Centre Wednesday (Jan. 9).
