A popular seasonal border crossing will be open from May 15th to September 30th.
The Chief Mountain Border Crossing south of Waterton is opening again for the season.
The port of entry along Highway 6 saw more than 68,000 travellers come into Canada last year between the May long weekend and the end of September.
Chief Mountain will open on Wednesday morning (May 15) and the Canada Border Services Agency is preparing for another busy late spring and summer.
The crossing will be open from May 15th to May 31st with limited hours, however those hours will be extended as of June 1st.
Chief Mountain hours of operation (Mountain Time)
May 15 – May 31, 2019: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
June 1 – September 2, 2019: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
September 3 – September 30, 2019: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
