Councillor Donna Courage has filed a complaint with the Alberta Human Rights Commission against the Town of Claresholm, however details of that complaint aren't known.
A Claresholm Town Councillor who says she was assaulted in her own home a few weeks ago has filed a Human Rights complaint against the Town. Donna Courage suffered facial injuries when an unknown assailant came through her door on January 20th and told her to "keep quiet and leave town." A special Council meeting was held Thursday evening (Feb. 1) in Claresholm and it was made public that Courage has filed a complaint against the Town with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Mayor Doug MacPherson tells our radio station he's unable to comment on the nature of that complaint. About 25 people attended the meeting. Last week, Claresholm RCMP issued a composite sketch of the suspect who allegedly assaulted Courage. The investigation is ongoing. - Pat Siedlecki
