The City of Lethbridge says the old wooden wall at the concession plaza was beginning to deteriorate and was replaced with a more modern-looking two-tiered stone wall.

After about seven weeks of construction, a new retaining wall along a northern part of Henderson Lake is now complete. Chris Witkowski, Parks Development Manager for the City of Lethbridge, says the old wooden wall at the concession plaza was beginning to deteriorate and was replaced with a more modern-looking two-tiered stone wall. He notes that the retaining wall is highly important to keep soil and other structures from collapsing into the lake. The project also creates additional seating near the concession plaza, allows for 50 metres of continuous access to the water and improves lighting along the shore. -Sam Borsato
