Double Murder Near Pincher Creek Still an Open Investigation 20 Years Later

It's been 20 years since a southern Alberta Mountie and his girlfriend were murdered and no charges have been laid.

It's been 20 years since a southern Alberta Mountie and his girlfriend were murdered and still no charges have been laid in relation to their deaths. The bodies of 52 year old Sergeant Peter Sopow and 47 year old kindergarten teacher Lorraine McNab were found in a horse trailer on her acreage near Pincher Creek on December 15th, 1997. It's believed they were ambushed and shot to death a day or two earlier and then dragged into the trailer. Despite boxes of evidence, hundreds of tips and advances in DNA technology over the past two decades, no charges have ever been laid. It's still considered an open RCMP investigation. -Tina Giesbrecht
