Due to the extremely cold temperatures, some parking meters in the downtown are malfunctioning.
There seems to be one advantage to this extremely cold snap for those who have to park in downtown Lethbridge. According to the City, battery-operated parking meters in the downtown may malfunction in the plunging temperatures and as a result, parking will be free for some people today (Fri). Commissionaires who enforce parking have been advised of the issue and will NOT ticket vehicles parked at malfunctioning meters. However, visitors who park at functioning meters must pay for parking as usual. The meters are expected to function normally once temperatures warm back up. - Sam Borsato
