A natural hatrick from new Canes overage forward Jack Flaman as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat Edmonton Saturday at the ENMAX Centre.
Jack Flaman is turning out to be the best free pick-up player in the Western Hockey Hockey. Flaman scored a natural hatrick Saturday as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-1 at the ENMAX Centre. It was Flaman's 4th goal in two games since being acquired by the Hurricanes earlier in the week off waivers. Brennan Riddle scored the other for the Canes into an empty net as Lethbridge improved to 2-2 after the first two weeks of the new WHL season. The Canes went 1/3 on the power play and Edmonton was 1/4. The Hurricanes slightly out shot the Oil Kings 23-20. It was also a very solid rebound game for Hurricanes goalie Stuart Skinner, who has a rough outing the night before in Edmonton. The Hurricanes now have the week off as they prepare to welcome the Prince Albert Raiders Friday (Oct. 6). The Hurricanes will be parked on home turf almost all this month with 7 of their 9 games in October at the ENMAX Centre including a seven game homestand which goes into the first part of November. - Pat Siedlecki
