Green's Pop Shop in West Lethbridge Reportedly Converting to 7-Eleven

Employees at the now closed west side branch say the store's location is being taken over by 7-Eleven.

It looks like west Lethbridge will be getting a 7-Eleven. Green's Pop Shop, along Columbia Boulevard West, closed for the final time last Saturday night with employees at the now shuttered location telling our newsroom the store site is being taken over by 7-Eleven. Possession is expected to change hands early next month though repeated requests for comment from both sides of the transaction have gone mostly unanswered with a 7-Eleven spokesperson saying only that the company doesn't disclose financial or real estate details. The west side branch of Green's Pop Shop opened in 2000 when Dave and Stacy Green purchased the strip mall. They sold the entire mall, along with their north side location, three years ago. The bottle depot and other businesses in that west side strip mall reportedly won't be affected. -Tina Giesbrecht and Pat Siedlecki
