Hurricanes Drop Weekend Home Games to Moose Jaw and Prince Albert

The race in the WHL's Central Division is getting tighter and tighter by the day.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes earning just one point in an overtime loss as the team dropped both its weekend games.

Moose Jaw was in town Friday and beat the Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime. The Canes badly out shout the Warriors 50-25 despite the loss. On Saturday, the WHL's top team rolled into the ENMAX Centre and skated away with a 6-5 victory. This was a much closer game with the two clubs trading goals all night long.

The losses, however dropped the Canes overall record to 27-16-5-5 on the season. They also fall temporarily to third spot in the Central Division behind Edmonton and Medicine Hat in what continues to be an extremely tight race for playoff positions which also includes Red Deer and Calgary.

The Hurricanes will close out their current six game home stand on Wednesday (Feb. 13) when they host Calgary.
