Hurricanes End Losing Skid; Hammer Royals 10-4 in Victoria

The Lethbridge Hurricanes long 8 game losing skid came to a screeching halt Tuesday with a lopsided win against one of the top teams in the WHL.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes ended an 8 game losing streak with an exclamation mark. Ryan Vandervlis scored a hatrick as the Canes hammered the Royals in Victoria Tuesday night. Giorgio Estephan scored two goals while Calen Addision, Jordy Bellerive, Tanner Nagel, Josh Tarzwell, and Zane Franklin added the others. The Hurricanes power play did pretty much all the damage in this one, scoring 6 times on 11 chances. The victory not only ends a long losing skid, it improves the Canes overall record to 8-11-1 on the season. The Royals went into the game as the best team in the WHL's Western Conference and one of the top teams in the entire league. The Hurricanes will now play in Vancouver Wednesday (Nov. 22). - Pat Siedlecki
