Hurricanes Wrap up 2019 Bantam Draft with Nine Selections, Two Trades

The Hurricanes have selected five forwards, three defenseman and a goalie through the 2019 Bantam Draft while acquiring a forward and forward/defenseman via trade.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes wrapping up the 2019 Bantam Draft Thursday with nine picks in total - five forwards, three defenseman and a goalie.
 
With their first selection of the draft, in the third round and 65th overall, the Hurricanes took defenseman and Saskatoon product Logan McCutcheon. Head Scout Rob MacLachlan says "Logan is a good puck mover and a really good skater." He adds "he's in the same line as Calen Addison and that's the way the game is going and that's the type of players we targeted ."
 
Overall, McCutcheon they've got some work to do on the recruiting side but are very happy with the players they were able to draft.
 
The 'Canes also acquired two players via trade - Alex Thacker from the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for defenseman Wyatt Wilson and Tyson Phare of the Prince George Cougars for Hurricanes prospect Fischer O'Brien.
