Interfaith Food Bank Experiencing Shortfall on Food, Toys as End of Christmas Distribution Closes In

The Interfaith Food Bank says it's experiencing a shortfall in donations for its Christmas hamper distribution.

The Interfaith Food Bank says it's experiencing a shortfall in donations for its Christmas hamper distribution which ends on Thursday. In addition to a few food items like pork and beans, canned meats and fruits, pasta, pasta sauce and one-litre bottles of juice, they are also short on toys for infants and teens. Organizers are asking residents to purchase some of the most wanted items or to contribute financially to ensure the Christmas demands are met and the food bank is adequately stocked heading into the New Year. In addition to the food bank itself, donations are accepted at several locations throughout the city including all major grocery stores. Donations are also accepted online at www.interfaithfoodbank.ca   -Tina Giesbrecht
