A number of extras planned at Exhibition Park this year including extra security at Whoop-Up Days, a new Family Day at the annual summer fair, and a music festival.
Lethbridge Exhibition Park will be focusing on the extra this year, especially when it comes to Whoop-Up Days.
A number of extras are planned throughout 2019.
The StagEX (stage-ex) Music Festival will be set up at Whoop-Up Days in August. Exhibition Park has partnered with an Alberta-based live event entertainment company to produce the show.
Extra security is also being hired for the annual summer fair. These measures will include; security check-points at all entry gates to the Park. Exhibition Park is continuing its strong working with Lethbridge Police Services, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis and all of the essential services teams to continue to deliver the best safety and security program for its guests.
Mike Warkentine, Ex Park's Director of Events & Entertainment, says the artist announcement for StagEX will come on April 2nd as well ticket prices. He says there will be a bit of change regarding the ticketing structure this year, but notes it's a significant financial investment by the Exhibition's Board of Directors.
A Family Day is being introduced as part of Whoop-Up Days starting this August. That will replace the annual Children's Festival which usually took place in the spring.
“We believe that we can better serve the community with the entertainment offering we provide during Whoop-Up Days” said CEO of Exhibition Park Rudy Friesen. Family Day at Whoop-Up Days will occur on Wednesday August 21, 2019. The Park entrances will open at 10:00 am that day and there will be discounted ticket options too.
Tickets for Whoop-Up Days will go on sale in April 5th.
