A male cyclist was taken to hospital after hitting and being dragged underneath a truck, but later died from his injuries.
A collision between a cyclist and a truck has claimed the life of a Lethbridge man. Lethbridge Police were called at the intersection of Stafford Drive North and 3 Avenue North on Friday (Dec.15) around 2:30 p.m.. Investigation by the LPS Specialized Collision Investigation Unit found that the flatbed truck was travelling westbound on 3 Avenue North, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded to turn northbound onto Stafford Drive North. A male cyclist was heading southbound on the sidewalk on the east side of the street and crashed into the middle rear portion of the truck, and was then pulled and dragged underneath the truck. He was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital for treatment, but later died from his injuries. No charges are being considered at this time. -Sam Borsato
