Lethbridge Police are investigating a robbery after the owner of a truck confronted a man inside and attempted to stop him as the vehicle sped away. On Thursday (Feb. 1) at around 5:23 pm, police responded to the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on 2nd A Avenue North after reports that a white Chevy Silverado truck had been stolen. Investigation determined the owner of the truck parked his vehicle near the pumps and went inside the gas bar. As he left the store he observed an unknown man get inside. The owner jumped onto the driver’s side running board in an attempt to get the male to stop, but the vehicle fled causing the owner to collide with a parked vehicle before he fell off. The owner was examined by EMS but did not require further medical treatment. Police subsequently located the truck a short time later. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his mid-40s. He was wearing a shirt with the buttons undone, a black jacket with a teal blue hoodie underneath, blue jeans and black shoes. - Lethbridge Police Release
