Livingstone-Macleod UCP Constituency Association Members Resign

Six members of the Livingstone-Macleod UCP Constituency Association have resigned, saying they're not happy with the United Conservative Party's top-down management.

Constituency associations are volunteer organizations that handle things like fundraising and reporting contributions.

Former president, Maureen Moncrieff, told the CBC that all six -- which included herself -- resigned at a meeting last Thursday (Mar. 7). Moncrieff also noted her disappointment that the UCP is not a grassroots effort, as previously promised.

UCP Leader Jason Kenney suggested at a news conference last Friday (Mar. 8) that those who resigned in Livingstone-Macleod may not have agreed with the outcome of the nomination in that riding.
