LRPS Report Increase In Calls For Service

The months of June, July, and August saw a significant increase in calls, with June having the largest jump from 2013 at almost 500 more.

Lethbridge Regional Police say calls for service took a spike over the summer months.  The months of June, July, and August saw a significant increase in calls, with June having the largest jump from 2013 at almost 500 more.  Inspector Tom Ascroft says the number of calls could see more balance in the next few months, and adds there's no specific offense that's contributed to the increased demand for service.  Ascroft notes that new staff is helping to combat the increase which includes new police graduates.  - Lynsay McMullan
