Nature Conservancy Agrees to Protect Southern Alberta Ranch Land

The owners of a vast expanse of land set in the foothills have inked an agreement with the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

The nearly 4,000-acre Riverside Ranch was established in 1914 by Peter Zoratti. It will now be protected from recreational development for years to come.
Carys Richards from the Nature Conservancy says the move will protect a vital source of fresh water, plus flora and fauna species that are at risk.
The Riverside Ranch runs between Lundreck and Beaver Mines, along the Castle River, and will continue to be owned and operated by the Zorratis.
