Not much defence Friday as the Edmonton Oil Kings beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-6.
It was a barn-burner in Edmonton Friday night as the Oil Kings out gunned the Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-6. Dylan Cozens scored a pair of goals for Lethbridge in the loss, which Shawn Harke, Igor Merezhko, Jordy Bellerive, and Jack Flaman had the others for the Hurricanes in a losing cause. At one point, the Hurricanes battled back from a 4-1 deficit to eventually take a 5-4 lead, however it wasn't enough as Edmonton came charging back with three goals in the third to win it. Edmonton held a 35-31 edge in shots on goal. The Canes early season record falls to 1-2. The two teams will play again Saturday (Sept. 30) in Lethbridge. Game time is 7:00 pm at the ENMAX Centre. - Pat Siedlecki
