Opioid Crisis Memorial Walk Taking Place in Lethbridge Tonight

The ongoing opioid crisis and recent spike in drug overdoses has prompted a local grassroots group to march for unity and hold a candlelight vigil.

A local group holding a special walk tonight to remember loved ones lost to the ongoing opioid crisis. Communities in Unity is a grassroots group made up of individuals in addictions advocacy and treatment, law enforcement, and education as well as affected family and friends. The group says given what's been taking place with the recent fentanyl and carfentanil issues and the spike in local drug overdoses, it felt it had to do something to bring people together. The memorial walk, labelled "Community in Crisis - Coming Together", will start at 6:00 pm (Mar. 5) at Lethbridge City Hall and then end in Galt Gardens with a candle light vigil. - Pat Siedlecki
