Police Say Lethbridge College Was Never Target of Social Media Threat

Lethbridge Police have determined Lethbridge College was not referenced in a concerning social media post reported Wednesday night and there was never any threat to students or staff.

Police have determined an online threat directed toward a post-secondary school was never aimed at Lethbridge College. Lethbridge Police says the local College was not referenced in a concerning social media post reported Wednesday evening (Oct. 4) and there was never any threat to local students or staff. A number of students at Lethbridge College reported a message on Snap Chat which stated “LSA students” should not go to school because someone was planning on killing people. Lethbridge Police investigated and determined the message originated from out of province and was referencing a school in another jurisdiction. Police say there was never any danger to Lethbridge College or the local community. - Pat Siedlecki
