RCMP Major Crimes Assisting Blood Tribe Police in Homicide Investigation

The male victim was taken from Standoff to an area hospital Friday night where he was pronounced dead.

Members of the RCMP Major Crimes Unit-South are assisting Blood Tribe Police with a homicide investigation. Few details have been released at this point but officers say at about 11pm Friday night, Blood Tribe Police were called to Standoff to help a man who was reported to be in distress. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The scene remains secured by police pending an autopsy which has been scheduled for Monday, February 26th at the Medical Examiner's Office in Calgary.
