REZiliency Conference Dealing With Opioid Crisis on Blood Reserve

200 Blackfoot youth are discussing how they view trauma in their communities and what they believe can help.

This week the Kainai Nation is hosting their first annual “Reziliency Conference”, to focus on trauma within the Blackfoot Confederacy communities. 200 Blackfoot youth are discussing how they view trauma in their communities and what they believe can help. Eight mini presentations will then be given at an event at the Multi-purpose Building in Stand-Off Wednesday and Thursday (March 7-8). The Conference will end Friday with a round table discussion about the current Opioid crisis on the reserve. The recommendations from the discussions will be sent to the Federal and Provincial Governments. - Brian Treadwell
