Southern Alberta Man Accused of Leading Police on Snowmobile Chase Sets Trial

A trial has been scheduled for this spring for a southern Alberta man who allegedly took police on a wild chase near Vulcan last year.

Tyrone Emblau, 35, was charged last March after he reportedly stole a truck, trailer and snowmobile and fled from RCMP in a rural area. He's facing a total of 18 charges for that incident, and was also wanted for 29 other outstanding warrants from various other Alberta RCMP detachments.

Emblau, who plans to represent himself, has set a one day trial for May 6 in Lethbridge Provincial Court.

He remains in custody at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.
