UPDATE: Okotoks Area Man Facing Aggravated Assault Charges after Shots Fired on Rural Property

Mounties say a man spotted two individuals rummaging through his vehicles and during a confrontation, an unknown number of shots were fired.

A homeowner in the Okotoks area is facing some serious charges after an incident over the weekend. RCMP were called to a rural property early Saturday morning after reports shots had been fired. Mounties say a man spotted two individuals rummaging through his vehicles and during a confrontation, an unknown number of shots were fired. The suspects fled though one was later located with an injury to his arm and taken to hospital. Ryan Watson is facing a number of charges including trespassing by night, mischief to property, and theft under $5000 while a second suspect has yet to be identified. The homeowner, Edouard Mourice, has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm. He was released from custody to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court in early March. -Tina Giesbrecht
